Start the new year off with fresher, brighter skin.
All the over indulging of sugar snacking, carbs feasting and booze overload can lead to a serious case of post-Christmas skin. Which can mean flaky, peeling skin, bloodshot eyes accompanied with eye bags, extreme sensitivity, acne around the hairline, dry flaky scalp and chapped lips to name a few.
My advice is to ditch the tea and replace with some health herble teas. I like to drink camomile tea as it has natural anti-inflammatory properties, greatfor those suffering from eczema, hives, or dry skin. The small white flower helps improve the health of the digestive tract as well. Poor digestion is often a root cause of skin irritations, since the skin can reflect the internal state of your body and can help heal infection and minimize puffiness under the eyes
*Top tip:- Let the tea cool and apply as a toner to your face with a cotton ball for fresh, healthy feeling skin.*
Fresh cranberry every morning for breakfast is a great boost for the immune system and skin asit has a remarkable amount of antioxidants when compared to other fruits and vegetables. It nourishes the body with carbohydrates, proteins and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, magnesium, potassium, zinc and vitamins like niacin, riboflavin, Vitamin B6, E and K.
Did you know:- One cup of cranberries possesses 8983 antioxidant capacity!
Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the outer layer of your skin. That might sound harsh, but exfoliation is actually a natural process of the body. but make sure that this the exfoliating beads are fine and gentle on the skin. I like to also use a facial brush if my pores are more congested then normal.
*Did you know:-Regular exfoliating improves your skin’s texture and help stimulate the production of new cells and collagen!*
My favorite product to which I like to use more often this time of year is Eve taylor facial oils as its essential oils are loaded with oxygen and detoxinate, hydrate and oxygenate the skin.
Oxygen kills bacteria regulating sebum (oil) production and in turn switching off the immune system response and healing the skin. Pretty clever stuff and all from nature!
There are many facial oils to choose from to suit all skin conditions and are packed with Vitamin A (maintains and repairs the skin), Vitamin D (cell growth and repair) and Vitamin E (antioxidant) rich Soya. It also contains nourishing and protective Hazelnut oil, softening Avocado and Vitamin E rich Wheatgerm which is also a natural preservative - very clever!
And a big plus for me and my clients, the Eve Taylor range does not contain Lanolin, Mineral Oil, Artificial fragrance, or SD alcohol.
For a little extra boost I like to use Imedeen supplements as this is a biotin and silica-based supplement infused with zinc and b-vitamins. It conditions and cares for the hair and nails from within.
So in conclusion you don't need to spend a fortune to get healthy skin, but just adjust a few simple things in your daily routine, keep consistent, be patient as you wont see results overnight and your skin may freak out a little for a few days until the toxins are out of the system. It will be worth the perseverance!
